Claire-anne Williams

Claire-anne Williams received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Indiana University in 1988. While there, she studied flute with Harry Houdeshel, Richard Graef and James Pellerite. She began her teaching career in the Holyoke Public Schools where she taught middle school band for 17 years. In 2006, she became the band director at the John F. Kennedy Middle School in Northampton. During the 14 years under Claire-anne’s direction the program and has flourished and grown to over 230 band students. She began a jazz program and conducts two full big bands. Claire-anne has been an active member of the MMEA for many years, holding positions such as Junior Band Manager, Brass, Woodwinds and Percussion Coordinator, and Tabulation Manager. She is a founding member of The Hampshire Flute Trio and has performed with them for over 20 years. She is currently a member of The Valley Winds and has played flute with them since their inaugural season. She lives in Florence, Massachusetts with her husband, Dan.
